We can offer you the best that the steep Moselle valley has to offer from dry and semi-dry to sweet dessert wines.
We still cultivate and harvest each vine individually, which is one of the reasons that the quantitiy that we can produce is limited. Our vines are mature. The oldest are about 60 years old. When they are well looked after, and are not forced to produce high yields by excessive use of fertilisers, these old vines yield wines with plenty of bouquet and body.
Our wines are numbered from 1 to 10 to help your orientation.
Each of the wines listed here is produced entirely on our small wine estate. We cultivate exclusively white wines from Riesling grapes, which are grown on steeply sloping vineyards. This has always been the traditional method of production in the Moselle region.
We have left the names and descriptions of the wines untranslated as this is what you will see on the label. To help you here is an explanation of some of the terms you will find here.
- "Hochgewächs", "Spätlese", "Auslese" and "Kabinett" are quality criteria depending how high the sugar concentration was in the freshly pressed grape juice.
- "Badstube" and "Bratenhöfchen" are the names of two areas of wine production in the Bernkastel region.
- "edelsüß" - sweet
- "trocken" - dry
- "halbtrocken" - semi-dry
- "lieblich" - sweet
- "RZ" - unfermented sugar remaining in the wine in grams per litre
- "S" - acid concentration in the wine in grams per litre
